About Milliardo Peacecraft:

Milliardo Peacecraft, or better known as Zechs Merquise. He was the greatest pilot that OZ ever had. He is unintentionally the "bad-guy" of the show. He means well but to achieve his goals he goes about it the wrong way. Towards the beginning of the show he was any other OZ pilot, then he quit OZ to go up to the colonies to achieve peace as Ambassador Milliardo Peacecraft. However Zechs couldn't follow in his father's foot steps. He only knew one way to live and, that was to fight. He became a renegade pilot just like the Gundams, accept he did not work along with them. He was then given an interesting offer. Quinse, (pronounced cans) asked him to become the leader of WHITE FANG. This is when Zechs became the enemy.

Many viewers looked forward to episode 46 when all of his motives were explained. Some people however still didn't understand what he was trying to accomplish by starting a war with Earth. So for those of you who didn't, here goes. As the leader of WHITE FANG, Milliardo Peacecraft was the ruler of space itself. So he decided to attack the Earth to start a "war to end all wars." He was going to try to achieve peace just like his father. only not through pacifism. He was going to kill as many people as he could and cause a nuclear winter on earth forever. The significance, humanity would be so devastated by this war that they would never want to see one again. However he was so blinded by his determination that he didn't realize that that would only provide a short-term solution and that people who didn't acctually see it for themselves would not care anymore. Future generations would still fight. The Gundam Pilots teamed up in the end to stop him. After the war was over he was believed dead, but he returned in Endless Waltz a "good-guy" once again.

Comparisons to Zechs Merquise and Char Aznable from the original Gundam series will be made no doubt. So here are pictures of them both and below them are the comparisons.

Both of these characters play similar rolls on there respective versions of the show. Zechs is known as "The Lightning Count" and Char is "The Red Comet", these two names though much different are strangely similar. Look at their masks now. Very similar accept that Char's has little "awnings" on the sides. Even the way they dress is extremely similar. (If you want a better view of Zechs' clothes look at the top Milliardo picture) The reason these two characters are so similar? Well when the creators designed Zechs they wanted him to be similar to Char Aznable and, ended up makeing them too similar. They later regretted this.
